WELCOME
My name is Florent Vola. I am a trained and licensed psychologist registered in the Shared Directory for Health Practitioners (Répertoire Partagé des Professionnels intervenant dans le système de Santé - RPPS) of the French Minister for Health and Access to Care (Ministère de la Santé et de l'Accès aux Soins). I offer remote sessions, in English or French (ici pour le français)
My background comprises, amongst other things: formal higher education in "general" psychology (Bachelor's degree) as well as a specialisation in social and organisational psychology (Master's degree); a position as a psychologist within the French school system, working with teenagers and their families on a daily basis; multiple years abroad, immersed in a variety of multicultural environments; and volunteering experience conducting support groups for an LGBTQIA+ organisation focused on family mediation. The set of skills I have acquired through this variety of training and experiences, along with further readings and training on the systemic approach to psychology, allow me to offer help on a variety of issues

GENERAL ISSUES
You're struggling with anxiety or facing specific blocks/obstacles in your daily life. You want to unpick your patterns or behaviour and/or the dynamics of your relationships in order to implement change
COUPLE ISSUES
You and your partner are bogged down in recurring conflicts, you have diverging needs, expectations, or values. You want to gain perspective on your relationship and its dynamics in order to reach compromises
PARENTING ISSUES
You're facing your own struggle with parenting, you and your child(ren) are bogged down in recurring conflicts or they need help with issues of their own (>12 years of age). You want to understand, to identify potential adjustments and to pacify your family circle
WORK RELATED ISSUES
Your work situation and/or relations are impacting your wellbeing, you believe you are a victim of harassment or you're simply dissatisfied with your career choices. You want to delve into your situation in order to identify possible evolutions and bring them about
INTERCULTURAL & MINORITY ISSUES
You're facing intercultural challenges in your personal or professional life, or you're struggling with a minority experience. You want to deconstruct the mechanisms involved in intercultural and/or inter-gender relations in order to gain perspective and identify potential adjustments
LGBTQIA+ ISSUES
You're struggling with the LGBTQIA+ experience, yourself or indirectly. You want to make sense of your situation and/or to deconstruct social representations in order to foster understanding and acceptance
You should rather see a specialist for:
ISSUES REQUIRING AN EXPERTISE
Certain psychological conditions (schizophrenia, heavy addictions, severe eating disorders, ...) require the help of a specialist, a psychiatrist, or a specialized facility
MEDICATION
I am not qualified to issue prescriptions for medication. If you're following a treatment related to one or multiple psychological condition(s), you should consult your GP and/or a specialist
DIAGNOSIS
As much as I am able to detect signs for certain conditions (ADHD, dys-type disorders, autism, ...) and recommend diagnosis, I am not qualified to run them
How I work
I offer 45min sessions, remotely, mostly on Saturday. I work in French (native) and English (fully proficient). Sessions are conducted via Google Meets, and their payment is operated at the end of each session (ideally through Paypal). I am currently able to accept new patients
The practise of psychology implies for a relationship of mutual respect and trust to be nurtured, with the consent of all parties involved at all stages of the process. I follow the official Code of Conduct pertaining to the practise of psychology (Code de Déontologie des Psychologues), as written and updated by the French Federation of Psychologists and Psychology (FFPP), and I abide by a serious sense of personal ethics. I can promise you a judgment-free approach to discussing whatever issue.s you wish to discuss, and I will respect confidentiality very strictly, so long as your safety or that of someone else is not in jeopardy
